Barca-Velha is the result of an audacious vision conceived by Fernando Nicolau de Almeida at the roots of the history of the Douro. TASTING NOTES:
Deep ruby ??color. Very intense and complex aroma, with shrubby notes such as olive leaf, olive paste, black fruit, spices, pepper, balsamic, cedar and tobacco box, stony, with discreet and very well integrated wood. In the mouth it has a powerful attack, vibrant acidity, lively tannins, notes of spices, red fruits, with a very long and elegant finish.

WINE YEAR 2015:
2015 was a dry year for most of the growing season, with March recording half of the expected rainfall and above-normal temperatures between April and May. The months of June and July were very hot, but good management of water availability in the soil and foliage made a regular and homogeneous veraison possible. The climate accelerated the growth cycle of the vines by around 1 to 2 weeks, and the thermal amplitudes felt between August and September allowed for a balanced ripening of the grapes, preserving their elegance and harmony.
