QUINTA DO CRASTO SUPERIOR WHITE

GRAPES:
60% Viosinho; 40% Verdelho

VINIFICATION:
The grapes, from the Douro Superior, were transported in 22 kg boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the winery entrance. They were then destemmed and pressed. The must was transferred to stainless steel tanks where it decanted at a temperature of 8ºC for 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation began in a stainless steel tank and the wine was then transferred to French oak barrels where it finished fermenting at a controlled temperature of 14ºC for a period of approximately 45 days.

AGEING:
The Crasto Superior White was aged in French oak barrels, where it remained for 6 months, in a fine lees bâtonnage process with the barrels set in a rotating system that allows the lees to be lifted without incorporating oxygen. New barrel 50% / Used barrel 50%. | French oak barrel – 85% / French oak barrel with acacia tops – 15%

TASTING NOTE:
Pale lemon in color, with good clarity and brightness, it presents remarkable intensity, purity and aromatic definition. On the nose, fresh citrus notes stand out — such as lime and grapefruit — delicately integrated with floral hints of orange blossom, supported by a vibrant mineral matrix. On the palate, it reveals itself to be very fresh, precise and tense, with a lively natural acidity that gives it a remarkable energy. It evolves with depth, balance and freshness for a wine of great seriousness, with excellent volume and enveloping texture. A wine with a clearly gastronomic profile,
which finishes long, persistent and precise. Its well-integrated natural acidity and its solid and balanced structure suggest excellent aging capacity in the bottle.
