QUINTA DO CRASTO ALTITUDE 430 RED

The Crasto Altitude 430 wine is the result of research work carried out by the viticulture and oenology teams at Quinta do Crasto, aiming to explore the potential of the many indigenous grape varieties of the Douro region.

The distinguishing features of Crasto Altitude 430 wine are, firstly, the grape varieties used – Tinta Francisca (70%) and Touriga Nacional (30%) – Portuguese grape varieties, typical of the Douro, which make up the final blend that Quinta do Crasto considers satisfies this wine profile. The Tinta Francisca variety, as it is a variety that, at altitude, has always presented good freshness and a very interesting aromatic component, producing a wine with a more open color, but with an excellent structure. The Touriga Nacional variety, as it is a very expressive variety and, even at altitude, has excellent acidity, great natural freshness and, aromatically, presents aromas of fresher red fruits and not such dense fruit as is sometimes normal in Touriga Nacional grapes from lower altitudes. The vinification of Crasto Altitude 430 wine is also different, following a different process than the usual one used in the production of the rest of the Quinta do Crasto wine line.

The Crasto Altitude 430 wine has a low alcohol content, typical of an area of ??altitude (430 meters) and northern exposure to the sun, demonstrating all the freshness and elegance of the Tinta Francisca and Touriga Nacional varieties when planted in these conditions.

TASTING NOTES:
With a garnet color, it is a very defined wine aromatically, very clean, with notes of red fruits and in perfect harmony with some fine spices and some aromatic notes of forest but always with great elegance. In the mouth, it is an engaging wine, with serious volume and a very fine texture. A very seductive wine.
