QUINTA DAS CARVALHAS RESERVE RED WINE

Quinta das Carvalhas Reserva represents the most classic and original style of this Quinta, encompassing the various facets of this terroir rich in diversity: in the very old vines of the northern quadrant of the Quinta we find structure, complexity and depth, while in plots with southern exposure, its rounder and more seductive side.

GRAPE VARIETIES
Old Vines and Touriga Nacional

VINIFICATION AND AGING
After careful manual selection, the bunches are destemmed, and the grapes are lightly crushed before being directed to the fermentation tank. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks at 24-26ºC. The wine is aged in new (20%) and used (80%) French oak barrels for a period of 12 months until bottling.

WINE PROFILE
Quinta das Carvalhas Reserva is typically a wine with a beautiful and intense ruby ??color, with fresh and intense varietal aromas, such as notes of ripe red fruit, forest fruits and herbs, and light nuances of well-integrated wood, showing great complexity. It is a full-bodied wine, but very fresh, vibrant and balanced, with flavors of black fruit and well-integrated wood, finishing with a very long finish, crowned by excellent acidity.

CONSUMPTION
This wine is ready to drink now, but will evolve with aging. Decanting is recommended.

FOOD PAIRING
Red meats, rich tomato sauces and spices, and strong cheeses. As a vegetarian suggestion, dishes based on mushrooms, sautéed asparagus and lentils.
