THE WINE
Callabriga is a Douro red wine with a contemporary, intense and elegant profile, created to reflect the versatility and exciting current nature of Douro wines. TEST RESULTS
Deep ruby color. It presents an intense and complex aroma with floral notes, tropical fruit, black and red fruits and spices. The high quality wood is well integrated, contributing to the aromatic complexity. In the mouth, it has good volume, with excellent round tannins and excellent acidity. Highlighting the aromas of red and tropical fruits, as well as floral and cocoa notes, the result of excellent maturation. Long and elegant finish.

VINIFICATION
It is vinified in the Quinta da Leda winery, from grapes from plots located in the Quinta and neighboring vineyards. Grapes with balanced maturation are chosen, a consequence of a favorable vegetative cycle. After de-stemming and gentle crushing, the grapes are sent to stainless steel vats and/or presses, where prolonged maceration takes place. The aim of this technology is that the quality constituents, present in the skins of ripe grapes, pass smoothly into the wine.

MATURATION
After finishing fermentation, maturation follows in used French (75%) and American (25%) oak barrels for a period ranging from 12 months. The final batch is prepared based on the selections made during the numerous tests and analyzes carried out during this period. In order to preserve the highest quality, it is only subjected to light filtration before bottling. Not being stabilized by cold, it is natural for deposits to form during aging in the bottle.

KEEP
For those who appreciate the youthful characteristics of a Douro wine, you can consume it now, although it will benefit from aging in the bottle for between 3 and 5 years, reaching a maximum of around 8 years of age, whilst remaining in full conditions of aging. consumption for approximately 10 to 15 years. The bottle should be kept lying down, in a cool, dry place, protected from light.

SERVE
Until the 2nd year it does not require special care, however from that date onwards it is recommended that the bottle should be placed 'high' the day before and decanted before consumption. Serve between 16ºC-18ºC.
